We are seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Explosive Ordnance Systems site in Darwin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage, maintenance, and distribution of EO systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the receipt, storage, and maintenance of EO systems to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company standards.
* Develop and implement local procedures for EO operations in the Northern Territory region to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
* Coordinate stocktake activities, cloud transport movements, inventory management, and survey tasks to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
* Prepare and submit regular reports and documentation to stakeholders, including management and customers.
* Adhere to the dedicated stocking and resupply program for EO systems to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
* Recruit, develop, and manage a team of staff to achieve business objectives and provide excellent customer service.
* Liaise with customers on force requirements, service levels, and opportunities for improvement to drive business growth.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the transport, logistics, or defence sectors.
* Demonstrated expertise in logistics management, including supply chain optimization and inventory control.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all organisational levels.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritise effectively.
* Tertiary qualification to Diploma level (or higher) in Logistics or a relevant business or industry-related subject.
* Sound computer skills in Word and Excel, with the ability to learn new systems and software.
* Demonstrated experience working with dangerous goods and handling hazardous materials.
* Availability for regular interstate travel to meet customer needs and attend training sessions.
