Domestic Violence Specialist Worker (Female)
The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation ('BCF') is one of Sydney's most trusted frontline charities and has been supporting the community for nearly 40 years. Our mission is to address homelessness and hardship by providing essential services including food, social welfare, healthcare, education and community programs.
Our Social Health and Wellbeing ('SHW') team supports individuals and families experiencing complex and multiple challenges. Through trauma-informed, client-centred care, we provide crisis intervention, case coordination and specialist supports for people impacted by domestic and family violence.
THE ROLE
This position is central to supporting women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. As our Domestic Violence Specialist Worker, you will be a trusted frontline professional, providing trauma-informed crisis support, safety planning and advocacy.
You will work closely with clients during highly vulnerable moments, helping them navigate safety, legal, financial and housing systems while maintaining a calm, supportive and empowering presence.
The role is based at our Ashfield Hub and forms part of a multidisciplinary, highly supportive team focused on delivering coordinated, wraparound support.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Provide immediate crisis response, risk assessment and safety planning.
* Support clients with protection orders and legal processes.
* Assist women and children to access safe accommodation, financial assistance and essential services.
* Deliver case management and coordinate referrals to counselling, legal, health, migration and childcare services.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Maintain accurate, timely case notes, reporting and documentation.
* Participate in team meetings, reflective practice and professional networks.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You are a compassionate, steady and confident professional who remains calm in high-risk and emotionally complex environments. You are able to balance empathy with clear professional boundaries and take a strengths-based, client-centred approach.
You'll also bring:
* Experience delivering trauma-informed support to women and families.
* Strong understanding of domestic and family violence dynamics and risk management.
* Skills in crisis intervention, conflict resolution and de-escalation.
* Knowledge of housing, legal, mental health and community support systems.
* Excellent communication, organisation and documentation skills.
* A flexible, proactive and collaborative work style.
