We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Linux Engineer. This key position involves providing support for deployable ICT systems in a national security environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and advise on interfacing system design and implementation.
* Develop and maintain software components.
* Integrate existing software components and applications.
* Build, administer, and support production nodes.
* Transfer knowledge to support personnel.
* Contribute to training material development.
* Perform level three support of production systems.
* Baseline and maintain system configuration control.
* Maintain software lists.
* Develop SOPs and BLIs.
* Implement a Patch Management Plan.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum 8 years of experience in software development.
* Custumising and administering Linux-based servers and applications.
* Automating and scripting application installation and customisation.
* Developing Linux SOE images.
* Developing technical documentation.
* Applying DEVOPS methodologies.
* Providing technical advice grounded in business requirements.
* Experience working with CIS.
* Understanding of systems engineering processes.
* Knowledge of Defence Capability Lifecycle.
* Agile project management framework experience.
* Familiarity with OpenStack.
* Windows SOE maintenance experience.
