About the Region
The South Burnett Region is ideally situated just 2 - 3 hours' drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. The region is home to the stunning Bunya Mountains, where you can enjoy spectacular rainforest walks, nights by the fire in hidden chalets and the best scenic views Queensland has to offer. About the roles
- Based in Kingaroy
- Permanent Full Time
- $61K- $63K per annum + Allowances + Super
Council is seeking motivated team members to provide regular maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure. This role involves undertaking labouring duties to construct and repair broken water mains, prepare work sites, lay pipework and install or replace water meters. The position will also be responsible for responding to customer requests and operating a range of plant/equipment. The successful applicant will have experience in labouring work, the ability to follow directions, and the capacity to work outdoors in hot conditions. Applicants should demonstrate basic literacy and numeracy skills, strong communication abilities and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Participation in after hours and weekend work is a requirement of this position
- Level of fitness required to undertake a broad range of physical tasks
- Working outdoors in hot conditions
- Immunisation injections will be required for Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B
- Willingness to travel across the region is a requirement of this position
Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of a current C Class driver’s licence
- General Safety Induction for Construction Worker Certification (White Card)
Desirable Qualifications
- Truck (MR, HR, HC) licence / Plant Tickets/Licences
- Confined Space Entry Ticket
- Plumbing knowledge and experience
