As the Resin Plant Manager at our Clayton facility, you will be responsible for the full operational management of the Resin Plant. You will lead a team to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production of resins to meet customer demands and business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across operations, quality, safety, cost, and service performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
Oversee all day-to-day operations of the Resin Plant, ensuring production targets are met in alignment with quality, EH&S, cost, and customer service standards.
EH&S Compliance and Culture:
Ensure plant operations are fully compliant with all Company policies and relevant statutory regulations for Environment, Health & Safety. Champion a strong safety culture and lead site-based EH&S initiatives.
Production and Performance Management:
Drive manufacturing performance through the implementation of KPIs and continuous improvement programs. Monitor and optimize plant performance across OTIF, yield, quality, inventory, waste, and unit cost metrics.
People Leadership:
Lead, coach, and develop a diverse operations team. Manage staffing, performance, training, and employee engagement to build a high-performance culture across the plant. Ensure alignment with company values and behaviours.
Financial Accountability:
Develop and manage operating budgets for the Resin Plant. Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure adherence to financial controls and reporting requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Technical, EH&S, and Commercial teams to ensure aligned plant operations and timely resolution of technical and quality issues.
Strategic Planning and Improvement:
Identify and implement medium- to long-term strategies to increase plant capability, reduce waste, and improve operational flexibility. Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives for continuous improvement.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure plant complies with ISO and other industry or internal certifications. Lead risk assessments and manage corrective action plans to mitigate operational and compliance risks.
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a plant or operations management role, preferably in chemical or resin manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of resin or chemical process technology, modern manufacturing practices, and EH&S regulations.
Proven track record in leading teams, managing budgets, and delivering operational excellence.
Demonstrated experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience managing a unionized workforce is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical, planning, and decision-making capabilities.
