About the role –Southside Bakery is seeking a qualified and experienced Baker/Pastry chef to join the team in our busy bakery.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Prepare and bake a wide range of bread, pastries, cakes, slices and cookies
* Develop and test new recipes to expand our offerings.
* Decorate and present desserts in a visually appealing manner.
* Communicate directly with customers regarding special orders, create the custom cakes, and ensure their timely delivery.
* Decorating birthday cakes.
* Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain a clean and organised kitchen.
* Ensure all baked goods meet quality and food safety standards.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff
* Adapt recipes to meet dietary requirements and special requests
* flexible rostering options available to the successful applicant
* Annual Leave options over Christmas/New Year period
Qualifications
* Trade qualifications in Baking / Pastry Chef(e.g Certificate III, Certificate IV in Baking / Patisserie
* Apprentices encouraged to apply.
Experience
* At least 4 years' experience as a Baker/Pastry Chef
* Apprentices are encouraged to apply
* Knowledge of bakery/patisserie production with the relevant qualifications
* Proved experience in making bread, donuts, continental cakes, custard donuts, pies, sausage rolls, profiteroles, vanilla slice, cannoli, fruit tarts and custard tarts.
