About Us
Legal Aid NSW delivers accessible legal services across criminal, family and civil law. We provide advice, court representation, and family dispute resolution through 28 offices and phone-based support, helping people navigate the legal system with confidence and fairness.
About The Role
Provide high quality telephone, video or other digitally enabled advice services to Legal Aid NSW clients. Services may include legal advice, minor assistance, referrals and facilitating grants of aid. Develop and maintain legal information resources. The Statewide Advice Team (SWAT) works flexibly and staff attend the Parramatta office in accordance with the SWAT Office Flexible Work Plan.
About You
You thrive in high-volume environments and are confident delivering legal services across hybrid platforms, including phone and video. Your strong verbal communication skills enable you to clearly explain complex legal concepts to clients who may be experiencing disadvantage due to mental health conditions or cultural and linguistic diversity. You are committed to providing accessible, high-quality legal advice, while consistently demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and a client-focused approach. You are an experienced solicitor, ideally with more than two years of post-admission practice and hold an unrestricted practising certificate in New South Wales.

The essential requirements for this role
* be admitted or be eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
* be able to provide a current NSW Practising Certificate before you start work (an unrestricted practicing certificate is highly desirable)
* be willing to do a Criminal Record Check
* hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
* have experience providing high quality legal advice and representation
* have demonstrated ability to develop plain language legal information resources
