Job Opportunity: Judgments Officer
The successful candidate will be responsible for the publication of judgments and working as part of a small national team. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, initiative, and co-operative teamwork within a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitoring the formatting of documents to ensure security, accuracy, and consistency.
* Allocation of Medium Neutral Citation numbers and pseudonyms.
* Uploading and amending records in judgments databases.
* Distributing judgments to AustLII and legal publishers.
* Creation of judgments alerts.
* Liaising with and training Judges' Associates about the technical aspects of judgments production.
* Anonymising final versions of family law judgments prior to publication.
* Participating in judgment related projects.
Requirements:
* Excellent written communication skills with an emphasis on spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
* Advanced experience with Microsoft Word and understanding of information systems such as databases and content management systems.
* Demonstrated experience with legal publishing and data standards.
* Demonstrated effective organisational skills with the ability to produce results within short timeframes.
* Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
* Well-developed personal skills including discretion, initiative, and sound judgement.
