We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Officer to join our team at The Village Swansea, working two days per week. This role plays an essential part in keeping our village safe, functional, and welcoming for our residents.
About The Role
As a Maintenance Officer, you'll support the day-to-day upkeep of the village by completing routine maintenance, minor repairs, waste management tasks, and mowing. You'll also play an important role in supporting our residents by providing patient, friendly and respectful service.
What You'll Be Doing
Carrying out routine maintenance, basic plumbing, general repairs and building upkeep
Completing cleaning tasks and supporting village presentation
Managing waste processes, including council bins, with a requirement to work public holiday Mondays on a rotating roster shared across staff
Maintaining accurate maintenance records using our online system
Operating outdoor equipment, with mowing required every Tuesday
Assisting with preventative maintenance and responding to urgent tasks as directed
Working collaboratively within a supportive team environment
Communicating respectfully and patiently with older residents
What You'll Need
Essential
General maintenance experience across basic plumbing, repairs, and routine upkeep
Experience with mowing and outdoor equipment
Cleaning and waste management experience
Basic computer skills to log and update maintenance tasks
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Patient, calm, and respectful interpersonal style
Ability to lift/move up to 15kg
Current Driver's Licence
Desirable
Experience in retirement living, property, facilities, or asset management
Relevant trade qualifications
Experience using maintenance or building-management software
