The role
The Community Coordinator plays an essential role in the planning and execution of community events, ensuring they run smoothly and meet the objectives set by the organisation. This position involves a blend of organisational skills and communication abilities, as it requires coordinating with various stakeholders, managing logistics, and handling any issues that may arise.
By overseeing the details from start to finish, the Community Coordinator ensures community-based projects and programs are designed, funded, and delivered to members.

About us
The Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar Aboriginal Corporation (WKSN AC) was formed as a result of the South West Native Title Settlement (Settlement). WKSN AC has been established to assist the Noongar peoples from the Wagyl Kaip & Southern Noongar area to protect and promote Noongar culture and to manage land and waters within their country. WKSN AC is party to one of six Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUA) that comprise the Settlement.
Wagyl Kaip & Southern Noongar people are the Traditional owners of approximately 52,246 sq kms region and includes the towns of Boyup Brook, Gnowangerup, Walpole, Denmark, Mt Barker, Cranbrook, Tambellup, Katanning, Jerramungup, Ravensthorpe, Hopetoun, Bremer Bay and Albany.
One of the cornerstones of the Settlement is the establishment of the Noongar Land Estate (NLE). The NLE comprises 320,000 hectares of land allocated as reserve or freehold tenure for cultural or economic development purposes. The WKSN AC will hold and manage a significant amount of NLE Cultural land that is intended to provide significant opportunities for the Noongar community to achieve sustainable economic, social, and cultural outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Organise and facilitate community events, workshops, and meetings to engage members.
Develop and implement strategies for community growth and connectedness.
Manage communication channels such as social media, newsletters, and forums, ensuring timely and relevant content distribution.
Monitor and address community feedback, concerns, and conflicts, implementing solutions to develop a positive environment.
Coordinate with external partners and sponsors to secure funding, resources and support for community projects and events.
Represent the corporation at community events and meetings and liaise with stakeholders.
Selection Criteria
Exceptional organisational and record keeping skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
Advanced use in word processing, and relevant software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel).
A demonstrated ability to work thoroughly, efficiently, and creatively, and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
Capable of performing constructively with minimal supervision and being proactive in solving problems and managing complaints.
Ability to competently liaise at all levels with demonstrated experience in dealing with people, government departments and other agencies.
An understanding of the Noongar community, culture, and other agencies in the WKSN region.
Strong communication skills including oral, interpersonal, and written.
Current driver's licence and ability to obtain a Working with Children Card.

Salary and benefits
$109,527 pa
+ salary packaging + superannuation. Salary of

5 weeks annual leave
