Job Description
Wickham Freight Lines is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fabrication Supervisor to join our dynamic team in the Workshop. This Permanent - Full Time position offers a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a passion for fabrication management to excel in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. As the Fabrication Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the fabrication process within the workshop.
Your main tasks will include:
* Managing and leading a team of skilled fabricators to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output
* Coordinating with the Workshop Manager and other departments to understand project requirements and timelines
* Implementing and enforcing safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment
* Developing and monitoring production schedules to meet project deadlines
* Conducting regular inspections of equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance
* Collaborating with procurement teams to source materials and supplies as needed
* Providing technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex fabrication issues
* Evaluating employee performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs
* Train apprentices to a high standard
* Maintaining accurate records of production activities, including inventory levels and quality control measures

* Proven experience in managing a fabrication workshop or similar manufacturing environment
* Trade qualified in Fabrication / Boilermaking / Engineering
* Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings (CAD) and specifications
* Proficient in overseeing welding, cutting, and metal fabrication processes
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting
* Experience in implementing quality control measures for fabricated products
* Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
* Proven track record in optimising production processes and improving efficiency
