About the Role
An established and highly regarded Canberra-based consulting firm is seeking a General Manager to lead the delivery of complex programs across government and industry clients.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives on delivering outcomes in high-stakes environments. You will be responsible for overseeing multiple engagements, leading consulting teams, and ensuring the successful execution of work across a diverse client portfolio.
While the role contributes to growth, it is fundamentally delivery-led, with success driven by the quality of outcomes, client trust, and repeat work.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of complex programs and projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes, strong governance, and client satisfaction.
Oversee multiple concurrent engagements, providing direction across scope, schedule, risk, and performance.
Build and lead high-performing consulting teams, supporting capability development, utilisation and delivery excellence.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, navigating complex environments and driving outcomes.
Embed strong delivery frameworks, reporting, and assurance practices across engagements.
Support business growth through client relationships, repeat work, and contribution to bids and proposals where required.
About You
Proven experience leading delivery within a consulting, Defence, or government environment.
Strong background in program or project delivery, ideally within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage large or sensitive engagements.
Credibility with senior stakeholders, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
Strong understanding of governance, assurance, and delivery frameworks.
Commercial awareness, with an appreciation of how delivery drives sustainable growth.
Experience working with or within the Canberra government landscape is highly regarded.
