Civil & Demo requires a skilled Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to assist the General Manager in a range of projects, from civil earthwork quotes, multi-unit apartment complexes to carparks. Tender submissions will range from $5000- $800,000+. We are seeking a skilled individual who can hit the ground running, be able to work unsupervised in an organised manner with very good time management skills and strong ability to interpret and understand specifications and geo reports.
The Role:
- Downloading and reviewing tender documents.
- Measuring and creation of take offs and BOQ’s utilising InSite estimating software
- Provide accurate estimates over a wide range of civil projects.
- Estimating from first principles for bulk and detailed earthworks
- Preparing quotes and tender submissions
- Liaising with customers and suppliers, develop relationships and client follow up
- Prepare SWMS & other safety documentation
- Contract administration duties including reviewing scope of works & reviewing contracts before sign off
- Use of programs such as Insite for take offs
- At times site visits or meeting clients will be necessary.
To be successful:
- Must be an Australian Permanent resident
- Must be Perth based with local experience and knowledge of the varying Perth ground conditions
- Have 5 or more years of experience estimating hard-dollar civil construction projects
- Previous project experience across bulk earthworks, roads and car-parks is essential
- Be confident in reading and summarizing drawings and be capable of pricing projects using first estimating principals
- Good understanding of the methodology to carry out the works
- Be proactive, a team player and have a positive attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are of the utmost importance
- This is an autonomous position and therefore we are looking for a self-disciplined and motivated individual that can add value and experience
- The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure
