Where You'll Be Working
Lismore Base Hospital is a regional referral, Level 5 base hospital providing a wide range of health services to residents in Northern NSW. Facilities include an operating theatre suite, intensive care/cardiac care unit, general medical and surgical wards, women's care unit, paediatric unit, renal unit, emergency department, medical imaging, cardiac catheter laboratory, mental health inpatient units, the North Coast Cancer Institute, pathology, pain management clinic, and specialist outpatient clinics.
Lismore is the capital of the Rain-bow Region, known for its waterfalls, farming land, artistic villages, and seaside communities. It is close to the Ballina & Byron Shires and the hinterland, offering a high quality lifestyle.
Eligibility and Requirements
Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Physician, or qualified through international pathways or with an MBA Registration in another physician specialty.
Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Medicine at the service delineation level.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide team leadership.
Demonstrated effective clinical communication (IT, written, verbal, interpersonal).
Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
Additional requirements:
You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or legally entitled to live and work in Australia.
A current valid NSW Working with Children Check is required.
