Remuneration – Staff Specialist: Click here to find out more & VMO: Click here to find out more Flexible work arrangements Salary Packaging – up to $9k for living expenses, $2.6k for meals & entertainment, Novated leasing Corporate Health and Fitness program 11% Superannuation on top of gross income Annual Leave Loading Purpose of Position: The AOD Staff Specialist / VMO provides clinical leadership across substance use disorders, including assessment, opioid treatment, pharmacotherapy, withdrawal management, pregnancy-related substance use, referral, and consultation within a multidisciplinary team.
The role includes providing opioid treatment services in Queanbeyan and Yass, addiction medicine clinics in Cooma and Goulburn, supporting inpatient AOD services at Queanbeyan Hospital, supervising Nurse Practitioners/Transitional Nurse Practitioners, and supporting research projects.
Your Responsibilities:
Provide safe and effective opioid agonist treatment Work within multidisciplinary AOD teams Deliver evidence-based clinical services for quality patient outcomes Utilise information systems for informed decision-making and care planning Communicate effectively with staff and clinicians Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and funding targets Promote patient safety and quality improvement initiatives Engage in practices promoting health and wellbeing Selection Criteria:
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Experience in opioid agonist treatment High-quality, contemporary approach to AOD treatments Effective clinical communication skills (IT, verbal, written, interpersonal) Commitment to continuing education and quality improvement Valid NSW/Australian driver's license and willingness to travel Additional Requirements: Compliance with NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015, vaccination against influenza, and eligibility to work in Australia.
