About The Department
Alfred Health Pharmacy is recognised for high quality and innovative patient-focused services, education and training programmes, and significant research output. The service operates over 4 sites within Alfred Health and supports postgraduate learning and research with mentors to foster staff development. The department also has a leading Digital Health strategy, managing the electronic medication management system within Cerner, with integration to Pharmacy Dispensing (iPharmacy) and Automated Medication Storage systems (Omnicell). A Centre for Medicine Use and Safety program supports safe and financially responsible medication management.

The Team
Our pharmacists are recognised as essential members of clinical teams, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve excellent patient care outcomes. There are opportunities to engage in Advanced Scopes of Practice, including credentialing programs and leading clinical activities such as Partnered Pharmacist Medicine Charting, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, Nicotine Replacement Therapy, and Analgesia de-escalation, among others.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist with experience in clinical pharmacy and education to lead the Pharmacy Learning and Development Team in a full-time position (permanent and 12 month fixed-term options). You will lead the development and management of core clinical education activities, including design and implementation of programs for interns, undergraduates, residency and advanced residency, as well as clinical pharmacy credentials for extended scope activities and external programs. You will also conduct practice-based research in clinical pharmacy and clinical education. A small clinical load (once to twice a week) is expected.

* Experience with clinical education in a hospital or academic setting
* High level of clinical skills and knowledge, with judgement and reasoning
* Demonstrated skills in change-management
* Problem-solving and risk assessment abilities and the ability to use initiative
* Excellent communication, time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
* Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
* Experience developing and building learning packages/credentialing programs
Qualifications & Experience Required
* Registered pharmacist in Australia
* Relevant post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or clinical education highly desirable
* Extensive experience in leading or developing educational programmes
* Extensive clinical pharmacy experience in a tertiary care setting
