Ensure the factory operates efficiently, safely, and with all projects delivered on time.
Assign and oversee tasks based on daily and weekly work schedules.
Plan, coordinate, and prioritise production and drafting schedules.
Deliver production outputs within required timeframes.
Responsibilities
Attend scope and handover meetings.
Review and interpret construction plans and project scopes.
Delegate and assign tasks to the Factory Foreman and Draftsperson.
Provide clear and timely instructions to factory staff.
Coordinate drafting timelines and joinery methodology with the Draftsperson.
Ensure all apprentices and new team members are trained in protected equipment use before unsupervised work.
Support factory-based training for apprentices and ensure attendance at external training (e.g., TAFE).
Manage procurement of materials and fittings for joinery items.
Monitor and maintain stock levels for both project-specific and factory-standard materials.
Regularly update material pricing and conduct stocktakes.
Maintain rigorous quality control; ensure all items meet standards before dispatch.
Promote and enforce workplace safety protocols.
Schedule machinery maintenance and repairs.
Maintain clear communication with the Project Manager to ensure smooth production flow and identify potential delays.
Approve timesheets and holiday requests.
Oversee internal freight logistics and delivery scheduling.
Assign and supervise general factory and grounds maintenance tasks.
Perform other duties as directed by the Operations Manager or Directors.
Qualifications & Experience
Trade cert in Carpentry, Shopfitting, or Cabinet Making.
Minimum 2 years in foreman or management role within the industry.
Proven experience in staff supervision and material procurement.
