Long term contract to assist Department of Defence. For a Welder, Fitter, Technical Officer or Maintenance engineer interested in setting up and conducting trials in laboratories and outdoor ranges of prototype guided weapons.
1. Requires hands on experience working in technical workshops and using power tools, and Australian Citizenship (for security clearances)
2. Salary guide: up to $45 ph including supa

A normal day
4. Assist in the conduct of trials including pre-trial planning and post-trial activities.
5. Assist in developing Trial Plans to cover all logistical and safety requirements
6. Participate in the setting up and conduct of experiments and trials in laboratories, specialist test facilities and on outdoor ranges. This includes welding.
7. Assist in the maintenance of laboratories and equipment including calibration
8. Undertake procurement and administrative functions in support of trial activities
It’s quite a physical role, mostly working in and around laboratories, and in the field, and outside of an office environment.

9. To be an Australian Citizen (a must)
10. Ability to work at remote locations on occasions
11. Good mechanical aptitude and experience working in technical workshops
12. Good aptitude in operating software applications
13. Drivers licence
You might also have a tertiary qualification in science or engineering, a trade certificate, a forklift licence, a doggers licence or a first aid certificate.
