Job Title: Client Architect
Location: Sydney, NSW | Hybrid Working based in NW Sydney
Salary: Up to $190k Base + Long Term Career Pathway
Contract: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract with permanent pathway
We are partnering with a global technology business to hire a Client Architect for a major enterprise rollout within the retail sector. This is a high impact role where you will lead solution architecture for a large scale client program and help establish the local Sydney function. You will be the key technical authority across the program, working with local leadership, global engineering teams, and senior client stakeholders to design and deliver a secure, scalable, enterprise grade platform. The role will start with a major discovery phase covering architecture, integrations, delivery planning, and commercial modelling before moving into implementation and long term support.
What You'll Be Doing
* Own the end to end solution architecture for a major client engagement.
* Translate business requirements into practical technical designs.
* Lead architecture across platform, integrations, data, infrastructure, and security.
* Work closely with Program Managers, Engineers, and client technology teams.
* Run workshops, guide decisions, and manage architecture governance.
* Support estimates, scope definition, risks, and delivery planning.
* Ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, and aligned to standards.
* Provide leadership through implementation and transition into BAU operations.
What We're Looking For
* Strong experience as a Solution Architect/Enterprise Architect.
* Track record delivering complex enterprise platforms end to end.
* Strong knowledge of APIs, integrations, messaging, cloud, hybrid environments, containers, and security.
* Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps, and modern engineering practices.
* Ability to influence senior stakeholders and simplify complex ideas.
* Commercial mindset with experience balancing business needs and technical outcomes.
* Retail, grocery, POS, payments, or commerce platform experience highly regarded.
Technology Environment: Java, JavaScript, VueJS, TypeScript, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, MongoDB, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Nginx, Cypress, SonarQube and modern cloud infrastructure.
