The Nurse Unit Manager provides leadership and oversight of the care team within a specific unit, ensuring compassionate and competent care to Arcare Residents while maintaining a positive work environment.
Main Responsibilities
* Resident Care: Ensuring high-quality and person-centered care to residents, addressing their medical, physical, and emotional needs.
* Staff Supervision: Managing and leading a team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, caregivers, and support staff.
* Care Planning: Overseeing the development and implementation of individual care plans for each resident, considering their unique health requirements and preferences.
* Medication Management: Ensuring proper administration and management of medications for residents, adhering to prescribed schedules and protocols.
* Family Communication: Communicating effectively with residents' families or legal guardians, providing updates on their loved one's condition and involving them in care decisions when appropriate.
Requirements
* Current AHPRA Registration.
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in Aged Care as a Registered Nurse.
* Knowledge of Aged Care accreditation standards.
* Comprehensive knowledge and experience with ANNAC.
* Expertise in medication administration and wound care with a commitment to ongoing clinical excellence.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* An outstanding proficiency in care planning, goal setting, and evaluation documentation.
* Capability to effectively lead and manage a team.
