Our Client RN FARMS PTY LTD is seeking a reliable Farm Inspector to work across six blueberry farms located in the Dimbulah and Mutchilba regions of QLD.
The farms located with sizes in acres:
- 66094 Burke Developmental Road (110 acres)
- 128 Veness Road (120 acres)
- 333 Veness Road (100 acres)
- 15 Minisini Road (100 acres)
- 62 Markocic Road (55 acres),
All of the above locations are within 5 minutes of each in Dimbulah town, as well as
104 Catherine Road, Mutchilba (100 acres), approximately 30 minutes away.
The Farm Inspector will be responsible for monitoring crop health, fruit quality, irrigation systems, pest and disease issues, and general farm conditions, as well as conducting regular inspections and report key findings to management. The role also involves ensuring farm practices meet quality, safety, and compliance standards, supporting harvest planning, and working closely with farm supervisors to maintain high production standards across all sites.
Responsibility
* Inspect blueberry plants and produce to ensure healthy crop production and compliance with industry and government standards relating to quarantine, quality, food safety, and licensing.
Main Duties
* Conduct regular inspections of blueberry plantations, fruit, and farm machinery to ensure compliance with quarantine, biosecurity, and food safety regulations.
* Monitor and assess the effectiveness of farming operations, including irrigation, nutrition, and pest control, to maintain optimal crop health and growth.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pests and diseases relevant to blueberry crops and identify early signs of infestation or disease.
* Inspect harvested blueberries for quality, size, maturity, and purity in line with market demand and industry standards.
* Identify causes of defects in fruit quality and recommend corrective actions and improved farming or handling procedures.
* Check final packed blueberries to ensure they meet required industry, export, and customer quality standards.
* Inspect equipment and facilities within packing and storage areas to ensure they are clean, hygienic, and operating correctly.
* Train and supervise farm hands in grading, handling, and packing blueberries to ensure compliance with industry and government standards.
* Ensure high standards of hygiene are maintained across storage, processing, and packing facilities.
* Enforce compliance with government regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and on-farm policies.
Qualification:
· AQF Certificate IV or Higher
· 1-3 years of experience in related field
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
