Welding Quality Assurance Specialist
Ventia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welding Quality Assurance Specialist to join their team in Wollongong, Australia. The role involves working on significant projects ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in welding activities.
The successful candidate will have relevant Mechanical Trade or tertiary qualifications, with experience in a Welding Supervisory or Leadership role. They will also possess strong management and organisational skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
* Develop fabrication work packages for maintenance and projects: Prepare detailed plans and specifications for fabricating equipment and materials, including testing and inspection procedures.
* Create and manage inspection and test plans (ITPs), check sheets, and welding documents: Develop and implement inspection and testing protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Select and submit weld procedure specs for client approval: Evaluate and select appropriate welding procedures for client projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
* Resolve welding issues during execution: Identify and resolve welding defects and anomalies during project execution, ensuring that all work meets quality and safety standards.
* Coordinate non-destructive testing, post-weld heat treatment, and industrial painting: Coordinate and oversee non-destructive testing, post-weld heat treatment, and industrial painting activities to ensure that all work meets quality and safety standards.
* Maintain contract-required quality documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all quality-related activities, including testing, inspection, and certification.
* Address client welding queries: Respond to client inquiries and provide technical assistance related to welding and quality assurance.
* Train and coach staff on quality control and assurance: Provide training and coaching to staff on quality control and assurance procedures, ensuring that all personnel are competent and aware of their roles and responsibilities.
* Implement and monitor the Ventia Welding Management System: Implement and maintain the Ventia Welding Management System, ensuring that all welding activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
* Conduct welder qualification tests: Conduct welder qualification tests to ensure that all welders meet industry standards and company requirements.
* Advise on fabrication methods per client specs and standards: Provide technical advice on fabrication methods and techniques to clients, ensuring that all work meets industry standards and client requirements.
* Participate in safety audits and inspections: Participate in regular safety audits and inspections to ensure that all welding activities are conducted safely and in accordance with industry standards.
