About the Role We're seeking a Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join a long-standing electrical engineering consultancy with a strong footprint in Central Queensland.
Based in Gladstone, this permanent role involves delivering control system design, programming, documentation, and on-site commissioning across a variety of projects in the mining, local government, industrial, and commercial sectors.This position suits an experienced engineer with practical experience in delivering control and instrumentation systems from concept through to commissioning, and who is comfortable working both in the office and on site.
Key Responsibilities Design, configure, and commission control and instrumentation systems for a range of industrial and infrastructure projects Prepare and review technical documentation including P&IDs, data sheets, and installation specs Provide input into project planning and manage technical delivery to meet scope, budget and timeline requirements Support junior team members and review work as needed Conduct site-based commissioning and provide practical fault-finding and support Maintain communication with clients, ensuring technical expectations are met Selection Criteria Minimum 15 years' experience in control and instrumentation engineering RPEQ registration (or ability to obtain) Working knowledge of Australian Standards Hands-on experience with DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems (e.g.
Allen Bradley, Siemens, Citect, Honeywell) Strong documentation and communication skills Desirable Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems Knowledge of fieldbus protocols (e.g.
