The opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for multiple APS5 and APS6 Actuaries to join the Actuarial, Data & Analytics division in ensuring a sustainable, Participant first future in Australia.
These will be 12-month initial contracts that are likely to extend, offering open market hourly rates. Our client can base these roles out of Richmond or Geelong, supporting hybrid working with 2-3 days on site per week, with the remainder from home.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Extracting, cleansing and preparing of data from multiple sources, in particular the data warehouse, and advising on appropriate data checks for reasonableness.
* Updating and development of regular performance monitoring.
* Supporting the Scheme Actuary Division to fulfill statutory requirements including the provision of data and analysis for reporting to the Board, Minister and for the purpose of public data sharing.
* Utilising statistical and mathematical modelling techniques to undertake analytical work on a range of tasks, including actuarial monitoring and analyses, data tabulations, scheme projects and cost benefit analyses.
* Undertaking ad hoc modelling requests and report production.
* Effectively communicating (verbally and in writing) the progress of work responsibilities and outcomes of work undertaken.

APS5 Selection Criteria
* Possess relevant academic qualifications such as tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies or Mathematics/Statistics, progressing towards Associate and/or Fellowship qualifications
* Please detail how your skills and experience will allow you to contribute to the role.
* Actuarial Education: Part I and progress with Part II
* 2 – 4 years of relevant experience
APS6 Selection Criteria
* Relevant academic qualifications including tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies or Mathematics/Statistics, progressing towards Associate and/or Fellowship qualifications.
* Actuarial Education: Parts I, II and progress with Part III
* 4-7 years of relevant experience
