JB Contracting is a rapidly growing contractor to the Mining and Civil Earthworks Industry across the Goldfields and the Pilbara regions in WA
JB is growing with multiple new contracts coming online and we are looking for strong people leaders to come on the journey with us. We mean it when we say no two days are alike, so you need to be a switched‑on problem solver with the ability to pivot at any time to get the job done for our clients.
On top of strong leadership, we need a candidate who can set the strategic direction and work with the team to deliver on it, driving operational excellence. The building blocks, systems and people are there; we just require a strong leader to bring everyone along on the journey, including operating rhythm and routine, people development and customer focus.
The role is based in Kalgoorlie on a 5&2 roster, and we will consider relocation expenses for the right candidate keen to take on this critical role.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
* Working closely with the Operations Leadership team to ensure the setting and maintaining of clear expectations. You will ensure that all field personnel deliver exceptional results to our valued clients using best practices, safety management systems and compliance platforms.
* Participating as a key member of our existing leadership team and you will need to be proactive in effecting change, developing solutions and delivering on these.
* As a growing business, support the GM around business development activities, ensuring we have the gear and people to deliver on, maximising utilisation at all times.
Qualifications
* Previous management experience in a blue‑collar industry – mining services/contractor/construction and/or earthworks
* Proven experience in leadership, coaching and mentoring. The successful applicant will have a management style that encourages personnel to achieve their goals in a safe and productive manner.
* You will enjoy problem‑solving and thinking laterally. Anticipate problems and take initiative to implement the action required to achieve goals.
* Be a team player with a gift for sharing information, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work under pressure with the ability to prioritise workload accordingly.
* Ability to embrace change and help others excel in a fast‑changing environment
* Demonstrated ability to involve others in the decision‑making process when making plans that will affect them
