About the Job

There is an exciting opportunity with the Town Construction Team for a Leading Hand. This position involves leading and working as part of the Town Construction team. Assist in delivering high quality infrastructure to residents of the Shire of Esperance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* As part of a multi-disciplinary team, perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and construction of Shire roads and drainage infrastructure.
* Assist the Town Construction Supervisor in carrying out duties including leading small teams to deliver maintenance activities, minor works or specific tasks of drainage and roads infrastructure.
* Provide direction and on the job training to other staff.

This is a permanent full-time position, working 85 hours over a 9-day fortnight.


About you

In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you must have:

* Experience operating a backhoe/bobcat.
* 'HR' class driver's licence.
* Demonstrated experience in operation of specialist handtools (power tools, chainsaws etc).

Salary

$86,673.68 per annum including overtime.

Permanent staff are entitled to:

* 5 weeks annual leave per year.
* 9-day fortnight.
* Minimum of 12% superannuation employer contribution.
* Superannuation co-contribution offered to a maximum of 5%.
