Senior Quantity Surveyor/Associate
Key Role Overview:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor/Avenue is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the financial management of construction projects from initiation to completion.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and cost plans throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring accurate budgeting and value delivery.
* Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements using industry-standard tools such as CostX or similar.
* Assist in the preparation and review of bills of quantities and tender documentation for MEP systems, guaranteeing compliance with project specifications.
* Conduct post-contract cost control, including reviewing variations, progress claims, and final accounts, ensuring timely resolution of commercial issues.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve commercial disputes and provide expert advice on cost-related matters.
* Provide value engineering input and life cycle costing analysis to optimize project outcomes.
* Ensure adherence to project specifications, standards, and financial parameters, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and expertise.
Requirements:
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, with a strong academic background.
* 5 - 8 + years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in senior roles, showcasing expertise and leadership skills.
* Proficient in MEP measurement principles, tendering procedures, and Australian standards, with a deep understanding of contract administration.
* Strong knowledge of contract administration, particularly AS forms of contract, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively.
* Skilled in CostX, Excel, and other quantity surveying software, with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
* Exceptional attention to detail and commercial acumen, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
* MRICS, AIQS, or working towards professional accreditation, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
