BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however, it is expected on our Graduate programme you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.
What you will be doing
In a multi-disciplinary role across a ship, aircraft carrier, or patrol vessel you will be focusing on the bigger picture and bridging the gaps between disciplines. Throughout the different stages of a product lifecycle, you’ll take the lead in systems integration and testing, qualification, and acceptance. As well as the technical aspects of projects, you’ll also learn to consider important factors such as schedules, costs, training, and environmental concerns.
Duties and responsibilities
* Capturing and analysing requirements to understand the customer/business needs. Undertaking both initial design and detailed design activities as the maturity of the design progresses through its development phases.
* Producing drawings, circuits, and other documentation to capture hardware design aspects and facilitate repeatable testing and resolving technical issues arising during design or testing activities.
* Supporting the creation of Procurement Specifications for the purchase of items from third parties in line with the requirements of the system design.
* Continually develop your hardware engineering capabilities to ensure knowledge and skills keep pace with best practices and technology.
* Articulate and present arguments, logically, and simply.
* Undertaking equipment testing as part of the assurance process to verify that the design meets its requirements.
* Supporting the installation of hardware both at land-based sites and on ships, supporting EMC, shock and vibration trials, supporting the equipment when in service, and providing technical support for new bids and undertakings.
Skills
* As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering
