About the role
Your new role will require you to:
* Maintain and repair the plant and fleet in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
* Identify potential problems, establish task priorities and conduct appropriate maintenance repairs in accordance with established practices and procedures.
* Provide an on‑site breakdown service for operational staff for major plant and heavy fleet.
Position requirements
* Trade Certificate (Motor Mechanic) - Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Council
* Knowledge and experience in servicing and maintenance of minor and major plant, light and heavy fleet vehicles.
* Knowledge and experience in the operation of hydraulic systems.
About you
You will require sound knowledge and experience in the maintenance of minor and major plant, light and heavy fleet. You will be able to work without direct supervision and respond to major plant and heavy fleet breakdowns in the field.
Suitable applicants will have a Trade Certificate (Motor Mechanic) - Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Council, experience in maintaining and repairing vehicles and/or plant and equipment, demonstrated ability to interpret manuals and the ability to work in a team environment.
You will be expected to work in both the mechanical workshop and field operations environment and will be required to visit other Council premises or related business premises to conduct your role.
You will be required to work a 9‑day fortnight with a rostered day off, generally 6:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday.
