We have an exciting opportunity within a Queensland Government environment for a Senior Test Analyst to support upgrades across a suite of HR-focused web applications and help build/maintain an automated regression test suite. You'll work closely with testing leadership, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality, timely releases across a complex enterprise landscape, with a strong focus on rigorous defect management, clear reporting, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute system, integration, and regression testing across multiple related applications
* Review solution changes against business/technical requirements and record test outcomes
* Translate complex requirements into clear, traceable test cases (create/amend as needed)
* Perform defect logging, prioritisation, retesting, and verification through to resolution
* Collaborate with technical/business teams (including external stakeholders) to meet release timelines
* Contribute to test planning, estimates, and status reporting (including regular test meetings)
* Support test automation activities and assist with data migration testing as required
* Escalate risks/issues through appropriate channels and contribute to continuous improvement
Skills and Experience (Must Have)
* Strong experience testing large, complex, custom-built enterprise applications
* Demonstrated experience testing HR systems / HR platforms
* Proven integration testing experience, including interfaces to financial and/or payment systems
* Solid capability in test case design from business and technical requirements
* Hands‐on experience with test automation (building and maintaining regression coverage)
* Experience with contemporary testing practices: defect management, reporting, and test governance
* Experience using modern testing toolsets, including UFT One and exposure to DevOps ways of working/tooling
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills (working across business, technical teams, and vendors)
* University degree in IT (or equivalent)
* Relevant testing certification such as ISTQB / CSTP (or equivalent level certification)
Desirable Criteria (Nice to Have)
* Automation scripting experience in VBScript and/or Python
* Experience supporting delivery with offsite / external providers
* Experience contributing to master test plans and test estimation
* Experience participating in structured change request processes
* Ability to run walkthroughs of test outcomes / future releases with business stakeholders
* Flexible working arrangements (hybrid environment)
