General Practitioner
Posted: 7 May
Offer description

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a dedicated General Practitioner to join a thriving, accredited medical center and dedicated skin clinic located in the heart of Kingston, Queensland. This well-established practice, which has successfully navigated three rounds of accreditation over the past twelve years, operates within a high-traffic shopping center environment. The facility is impressively equipped with eleven consultation rooms and two specialized treatment rooms, utilizing Best Practice software to ensure seamless clinical workflows. The incoming practitioner will step into a high-volume environment, inheriting a robust patient base from two departing full-time doctors, ensuring a fully booked schedule from the very first day. The practice prides itself on a collaborative and multidisciplinary team composition, currently consisting of nine GPs, two GP Registrars, and a comprehensive support staff including three full-time nurses and four administrative professionals. Clinical operations are further bolstered by dedicated Chronic Disease Management (CDM) support and on-site allied health services, including a Dietitian and Diabetic Educator. While the practice follows a bulk-billing model, the financial incentives are significant; full-time doctors typically receive approximately $11,000 every three months via the Bulk Billing Practice Incentives Program (BBPIP), with current GPs generating gross billings between $380 and $460 per hour. Clinical autonomy and professional growth are cornerstones of this position. Practitioners enjoy the freedom to set their own appointment lengths, typically choosing between 10 or 20-minute intervals. For those with a passion for education, the clinic serves as a premier teaching practice affiliated with the University of Queensland and Griffith University. Doctors interested in supervising medical students are supported with a $200 daily teaching bonus. Furthermore, the clinic offers a unique pathway for those interested in dermatology; new team members can learn advanced skin cancer surgery and medicine under the mentorship of UK-qualified practitioners holding postgraduate diplomas and Fellowships in Skin Cancer. The practice offers a highly competitive remuneration package, providing the greater of 70% of billings or a $220 per hour guarantee for the initial four months. Flexible working arrangements are encouraged to support a healthy work-life balance, allowing doctors to tailor their hours within a six-day operational week. Located in the Logan region, the position offers the lifestyle benefits of suburban Queensland with easy access to both Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Special provisions are also available for doctors with one year remaining on their moratorium, as the practice can facilitate provider number access through its unique dual-location structure.
