* Fixed Term Full Time appointment for 12-months commencing in February 2027, with the possibility of extension(s).
* Salary range: $157,338 - $240,675 p.a. Including base salary, professional development allowance, and 12.5% superannuation.
About the role
As Trainee Registrar of Public Health, you will work with the Public Health Physician and Goldfields Public Health Unit to develop and support projects in disease control and immunisation.
A key function of this position will be to liaise with a variety of stakeholders including hospital clinicians, general practitioners, regional public health teams, sexual health teams and Aboriginal community-controlled health services whilst running screening programs and managing disease outbreaks.
You be will also be required to carry out epidemiological analysis, collaborate with health promotion and Local Government to respond to other public health risk and provide education and advice to general practice, other health staff and community-based organisations in relation to public health issues such as environmental health and local government public health planning.
The successful applicant will work with a dynamic multidisciplinary public health team under the guidance of the Public Health Physician for the Goldfields Region. Particular issues include Trachoma, sexually transmitted diseases, TB and strong links with the NG Lands.
The position is accredited for Advanced Public Health Training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and has an active education program and strong culture of learning, research and academic achievement.
* Hold AHPRA registration and be eligible to enrol as an Advanced Trainee in the Australian Faculty of Public Health Medicine
* Completed a Master of Public Health Medicine and have at least three years post-graduate medical experience
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of cultural issues and social determinants particularly relating to Aboriginal Health is a must
