We are seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to join our team at Osborne Naval Shipyard Offices in SA.
This role is responsible for delivering onsite Health Centre services to ensure quality Occupational Health, Medical, and Emergency care to all employees and business partners on site.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver onsite health centre services to ensure quality occupational health, medical, and emergency care to all employees and business partners on site.
* Implement the early intervention program and injury management treatment protocols/plans to administer first aid treatment, review, assess, and treat to support optimum recovery of injured employees.
* Monitor the health status of all employees through pre-employment medical screening, task-related periodical health monitoring to comply with legislative requirements.
* Evaluate the health centre's adherence to legislative requirements, including poisons permit governance, medication standing orders, workers compensation legislation, and worksafe regulatory requirements.
* Provide initial assessments of injuries and illnesses reported by employees, leading to early diagnosis and facilitated early recovery for work and non-work-related injury or illness.
* Record injuries reported by workers and any associated incidents in the electronic injury management database.
* Assist the SHE team with health promotion education activities on employment and lifestyle issues for all personnel.
* Coordinate medical appointments for injured workers with appropriate medical professionals and accompany injured workers when required.
About You
You will be an Australian citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance. You should have relevant occupational health nursing experience or emergency nursing experience, be a registered general nurse with current registration with AHPRA, and have at least 5 years post-registration experience.
You must be able to work autonomously, possess a current CPR certificate, and have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Advanced life support qualification and accredited drug and alcohol testing certification are desirable.
