About the Opportunity:
This position supports MinRes' focus to provide a safe work environment by providing specialised service and advice to Mining Services.
The role will be based at Hope Downs 2 project on an 8/6 roster reporting to the Group Manager Health & Safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice on all aspects of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS),
* Support and improve safety systems, processes, and practices aligned with corporate objectives.
* Monitor and interpret WHS legislation; respond to safety incidents as needed.
* Investigate incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend improvements.
* Conduct workplace inspections; identify and report hazards and unsafe conditions.
* Manage moderately complex safety projects using sound judgement.
* Prepare reports within required timeframes.
* Mentor and coach staff to promote risk management processes.
* Maintain thorough knowledge of safety management systems.
* Conduct safety audits (onsite and desktop) to identify system improvements.
* Review and update site safety procedures, plans, and risk documents.
What will you bring?
* Tertiary and/or vocational qualifications in Work Health and Safety.
* Lead Auditor Qualification (Desirable)
* ICAM or TAP Root Investigation Technique Qualification
* Previous experience as a Safety Advisor in a similar environment
* Extensive experience in incident investigation techniques.
* Knowledge of Risk Management and Loss Prevention techniques.
* Experience in the development and implementation of safety management systems.
* Experience in the practical application of safety in a heavy industrial/mining industry and/or workshop environment.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety and Safety and Workers' Compensation Legislation, Regulations, Standards and Codes of Practice.
