POSITION OVERVIEW
Due to winning a new project, we are seeking a HSE Advisor to join the Hickory team. The HSE Advisor will foster a culture of safety, health, and environmental compliance across diverse industrial operations. This role involves implementing and monitoring safety measures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting environmental sustainability. The HSE Advisor collaborates with operational teams, conducts risk assessments, drives safety communication, and leads incident investigations to improve safety protocols. The primary goal is to safeguard lives, prevent workplace incidents, and maintain environmental responsibility according to industry regulations and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure site operations comply with Site Safety and Environmental Plans.
* Conduct site inductions and safety walks, including weekly inspections.
* Consult regularly with workers and management on safety issues.
* Monitor site work to ensure compliance with SWMS and work processes.
* Identify hazards and ensure proper supervision of subcontractors and workers.
* Complete weekly Risk Forecasts and update Project Risk Assessments as needed.
* Identify training opportunities for employees to ensure safe task completion and proper plant procedures.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE
* Qualifications: Tertiary in WHS, Diploma in WHS, Cert IV WHS with experience, or a relevant trade background. ICAM Lead Investigator qualification is desirable.
* Proficiency in Hammertech and other HSE construction technologies.
* Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Understanding of plant safety requirements.
* Excellent communication skills for large groups.
* Advanced documentation skills.
* Knowledge of workplace safety legislation.
* Familiarity with construction-related industrial relations.
* Understanding of construction processes, including precast concrete, electrical, and plant operations.
* Experience in safety auditing.
