Lecturer - Occupational Therapy

. This is a 0.5 FTE continuing opportunity commencing January 2026. The salary range is
$118,308 - $140,147
(ALB) pro-rata, plus 17% superannuation. Specific workdays are negotiable.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality instruction across undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels
Engage in continuous improvement and foster student learning through diverse teaching methods (tutorials, practical sessions, workshops)
Mark assessments and contribute to curriculum development
Coordinate units and supervise honours and postgraduate students
Manage associated administrative functions
Research (Teaching and Research Academics)
Engage in high-quality, nationally competitive research
Develop a coherent research program and participate as a co- or chief investigator for funding applications
Disseminate findings through seminars, workshops, and reputable publications; supervise research students and aim for national recognition in the field
Undertake administrative tasks related to research
Service and Leadership
Contribute to academic service by fostering collegiality and engagement, along with efficient management of internal service roles
Actively participate in external activities relevant to the discipline, as well as engage with the community to enhance outreach
Mentor less experienced staff to support their professional development as educators
Selection Criteria
A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent accreditation and professional standing for Teaching Focused Clinical Professional role).
Demonstrated high-level teaching skills and a reflective approach to teaching delivery.
A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
An emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
Demonstrated experience/capacity to undertake unit coordination.
Demonstrated high-level communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.
Demonstrated commitment to the application of relevant policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
Please note that this recruitment is for one position only. The suitable candidate may be considered for either a Teaching Academic or a Teaching & Research role, depending on their experience, skills, and qualifications.
Role Requirements
As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.
Applicants must be currently registered with Ahpra.
Part-time position (0.5 FTE) requiring 2.5 days of work per week. The specific workdays are negotiable.
