We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Service Technician (Field) to join our dynamic John Deere team in Mackay.
You can be based in Mackay, Proserpine or Bowen, supporting a wide region of customers.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Service Technician (Field), you will:
* Carry out diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and maintenance on a range of heavy equipment
* Accurately record all work completed, including parts used and time taken
* Maintain a tidy work area and take care of tools, machines, and equipment
* Work closely with customers to identify service needs and deliver effective solutions
* Follow all safety procedures and represent RDO professionally onsite
* Deliver expert service and support to our customers and partners
* Contribute to a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement
Coverage Areas:
* You will provide field service support across the Whitsunday, Coalfields and Bowen regions, attending customer sites as required.
Travel & Rosters:
* Potential overnight/away travel depending on customer needs
* On‑call requirements on a rotating roster
What We’re Looking For
Someone who:
* Is a trade‑qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter, Mobile Plant Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or equivalent
* Has hands‑on experience with heavy diesel equipment, including major repairs and overhauls
* Brings strong diagnostic ability in electrical, hydraulic, and IT systems
* Communicates well and puts the customer first
* Holds a valid driver’s licence and has the right to work in Australia
* Is safety‑conscious, solutions‑focused, and ready to grow
* Works well in a team, takes initiative, and delivers results
* Holds relevant certifications or qualifications
This role requires specific licences or certifications, which will be requested later in the recruitment process.
