We're expanding and looking for a confident, people-focused General Manager to act as the right hand to our Director — someone who can lead teams, build and maintain strong client relationships, and ensure operations run smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
About the Role
This role is designed to take ownership of both internal team support and external client relationship management. You'll be the first point of contact for day-to-day staff and client communication — keeping things moving, solving problems early, and ensuring a consistent high standard of service and delivery.
You'll work closely with site supervisors, project leads, and hire managers — not above them, but alongside them — to support performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. Your presence will give our senior leadership the ability to focus on long-term growth, strategy, and major opportunities.
Some interstate travel will be required to visit clients and support teams across our national footprint.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the day-to-day contact for clients, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and communication remains strong
* Build trust and credibility with key client stakeholders through regular check-ins and professional delivery
* Lead and support internal teams across multiple sites
* Work closely with site and project supervisors to ensure operations are aligned with client expectations
* Help manage workforce planning, onboarding, and performance across the team
* Uphold and promote our company culture, safety standards, and service reputation
* Report to the Managing Director and help drive operational discipline across the business
About You
* Calm, confident, and people-first
* Strong background in civil, industrial services, mining, or equipment hire
* Proven experience in client relationship management in a high-performance environment
* A natural communicator who can build trust with both crews and corporate clients
* Sharp problem-solver, able to act quickly without creating noise
* Comfortable travelling to maintain visibility across projects and client sites
