We are seeking a
Test Analyst
to support a major, long-term technology program within a federal government environment. This position will play a key role in designing, executing, and improving both manual and automated testing activities across a highly complex, multi-year transformation program.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong experience in API testing, test case development, and Azure DevOps, as well as those comfortable working within structured government delivery frameworks. The program runs until
2027
, and ongoing 6-month extensions are anticipated.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute high-quality test plans, scripts, and cases across system, integration, regression, and UAT phases.
* Conduct manual and automation testing activities with accuracy and consistency.
* Use Azure DevOps for test management, scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
* Perform API testing using Postman and interpret Swagger/OpenAPI files to design comprehensive test scenarios.
* Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring clear reproduction steps and timely follow-up with developers and analysts.
* Participate in validation activities, issue triage, and continuous improvement of testing standards.
* Assist with data validation, test environment coordination, and regression coverage planning.
* Collaborate with business analysts, architects, developers, and stakeholder groups to ensure quality outcomes.
* Support test reporting, risk identification, and quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
* Contribute to structured delivery practices in a security-focused, highly regulated government environment.
Requirements
* Demonstrated experience as a Test Analyst within large-scale or government programs.
* Proficiency in both manual and automation testing approaches.
* Experience using
Azure DevOps
for test case creation and management.
* Strong hands-on experience with
Postman
and API test development.
* Ability to read and interpret
Swagger/OpenAPI
documentation.
* Strong understanding of defect lifecycle, test methodologies, and quality assurance practices.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary hybrid teams.
Desirable
* Experience supporting federal government or other regulated environments.
* Exposure to DevOps workflows or cloud-based development environments.
* ISTQB or equivalent testing certifications.
Additional Requirements
* Must be an Australian Citizen.
* Must hold (or be eligible to obtain) NV1 security clearance.
* PEIC background check required prior to commencement.
