Blue Stone Management is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Sydney. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in managing all aspects of cost estimating and quantity surveying for our construction projects. Key Job Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
Analyse and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Measure and quantify construction materials and labour requirements
Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier contracts
Monitor project costs and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders
Assist with the preparation of tender submissions and proposals
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value engineering strategies
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals
Basic Qualifications
8+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
Proven track record of preparing accurate cost estimates and managing construction budgets
Excellent knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Proficient in using CostX and MS Office applications
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Requirements
Physical: Ability to conduct site walks and attend in-person meetings at client locations.
Cognitive: Strong critical thinking, technical writing, negotiation, and multitasking abilities.
Logistics: This is a full-time, hybrid role; off-hours work may be required to accommodate operations or agency schedules.
Technical: Must be familiar with remote systems access and able to manage reporting in fast-paced environments.
