This is a permanent part-time (0.4 FTE) position commencing as soon as possible.
Please note, this is a split shift position and there is the possibility to progress to full time.
The Role
The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for overseeing the opening and closing of the school and performing various internal and external cleaning duties, including maintaining carpets and hard floor surfaces, cleaning toilets, furniture and fittings, dusting, window cleaning, rubbish removal and other general cleaning tasks.
Externally, the role involves cleaning verandas, covered areas and drinking troughs, removing cobwebs, and performing general upkeep of the grounds. Experience in vacation cleaning tasks such as stripping and sealing vinyl floors, shampooing carpets, pressure cleaning verandas and undercover areas, and other related duties is required.
The successful applicant will ideally have experience supervising staff. They will manage and work alongside school staff, ensuring optimal performance in consultation with the Manager of Corporate Services. Responsibilities include maintaining the cleaner's time book, arranging for relief staff when necessary, monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies, conducting regular stocktakes, and managing equipment maintenance and replacement.
Eligibility
* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
