The Wanneroo Business Association (WBA) is an active and welcoming business community of over 450 businesses, offering networking, educational events and business support services to their members across Perth. The associations purpose is to help support the growth & enrichment of the business community by assisting businesses to connect, communicate and collaborate together.
They currently have an exciting opportunity for a friendly and pro-active membership & events coordinator to come on board during a period of further growth within this reputable not-for-profit organisation which is known for its approachability, professional events, networking opportunities, advocacy, adaptability, and engagement with internal & external stakeholders.
In this role you will be responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day operations for the WBA with a strong focus on events management and delivery alongside membership liaison duties whilst reporting to the WBA Board and being the friendly face of the WBA. The role will be hands on in the delivery of these services and as such you will be required to attend some out of hours events and meetings for which time in lieu will be provided. **_Duties Include But Not Limited To:_**
- Governance requirements as per the Assoc Inc Act 2015 and the WBA Rules including reporting and providing support to the WBA Board
- Marketing and promotion of the services provided by the WBA driving growth and engagement in the membership & community
- Creation, management and delivery of events whilst being the face of the WBA
- Account management concentrating on membership retention
- Business development to assist with membership growth & sponsorship activities
- Providing excellent customer service & showcasing membership benefits to members via face to face & online
- Advocacy for WBA members
- Maintaining effective engagement with government and external stakeholders
- Stakeholder management
- Budgeting & Financial Management for the organisation
- Office management including managing a small internal team
- Content planning and creation of marketing materials
- General administrative, scheduling, & marketing support utilising MS Suite, Canva, Mailchimp, Loomly, GBP, and social media platforms
- Social media posting across a variety platforms as well as assisting with paid advertising campaigns
- Being active & timely in responses on the social media pages including managing the internal FB group
- AP/AR (external Bookkeepers are engaged for BAS, payroll, super etc)
- Handling enquiries in a timely manner
- Keeping the CRM & the website up to date with accurate & timely information
- Keeping the office sufficiently stocked with supplies and tidy
- Ad hoc tasks as required to assist with the smooth running of daily operations
**_Requirements:_**
- 5+ years experience within a position that encompasses event management, marketing, and strong administrative skills
- Experience within a member based organisation or a NFP highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience with business development, account management, networking and liaising with a variety of stakeholders
- Passionate about supporting local business and seeing them thrive
- Relationship focused with the ability to work proactively and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders within a fast paced environment
- Ability to build rapport quickly and build effective business networks in order to help benefit the association and its members
- Ability to deliver sound financial management to ensure effective and efficient use of the resources available
- Experience with accounting software (Xero preferred)
- Strong strategic vision & always thinking one step ahead
- Passionate about providing exceptional & timely customer service
- Comfortable with public speaking and being the face of the WBA
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritize your work flow & manage your time efficiently whilst working autonomously
- Tech savvy - MS Suite, CANVA, Mailchimp, Social Media Posting, GBP
- Professionally presented with excellent communication skills & strong attention to detail
- Have a friendly disposition & be self motivated, adaptable & proactive
- Be able to keep a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to liaise with a diverse range of people & build relationships
- Availability for events outside standard working hours of 8am-4pm
