This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata'd to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme. This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What You'll Be Doing
* The role will provide evidence based Occupational Therapy services to consumers accessing adult community and inpatient mental health and drug & alcohol services in Broken Hill.
* The role will work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team using recovery orientated trauma-informed approaches to encourage and increase functional capacity and independence.

Qualifications
* A bachelor or post graduate degree in Occupational Therapy with current authority to practice as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Demonstrated capabilities and experience in recovery-oriented Occupational Therapy service provision in an adult mental health setting.
* Demonstrated understanding of the effects of severe and persistent mental illness and drug and alcohol on people, and a willingness to actively engage with consumers to minimise this impact.
* Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers and their families to enhance health outcomes.
* Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills together with willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues and students.
* Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills including the verbal and written ability to communicate and consult with clients, family and/or carers and other health, community and welfare professionals together with intermediate computer skills including use of the Microsoft Office suite.
* Demonstrated competence in the use of electronic information systems and the ability to maintain accurate medical records utilising appropriate documentation and entering data related to activity in a timely manner.
* Ability to work in sites across the Local Health District as required or directed with a valid unrestricted Class C driver's licence for use in NSW and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
