About the Role
The Software Integration Specialist will be responsible for configuring, implementing, testing and maintaining software across diverse environments.
This includes Linux-based systems, network switches, virtual machines and containerised applications. The successful candidate will develop a broad understanding of the operational use of associated systems under development.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining software integration environments, including integration and installation of software and equipment into test reference sites and various Linux-based environments.
* Configuring, managing and troubleshooting network switches to enable secure and efficient data flow between integrated systems.
* Implementing, deploying, managing and configuring containerised applications using Docker.
* Deploying, managing and troubleshooting Linux-based virtual machines and network environments.
* Developing and maintaining automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Ansible for system provisioning, configuration management and software deployment.
* Troubleshooting system issues related to Linux servers, networking infrastructure, VMs and containers in distributed environments.
* Preparing test documentation, conducting integration testing, system testing and supporting test readiness reviews.
* Participating in reviews of software and documentation as required.
Flexible work arrangements, such as 9-day fortnight, may be considered for this role.
About You
Candidates for this role should possess:
* Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor's degree) in a relevant discipline, such as software engineering or computer science.
* Experience in integrating software components in near real-time software-intensive systems.
* Experience in integrating COTS/MOTS components.
* Experience in integration testing of software-intensive systems.
* Proficiency in networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, routing and switching.
* Hands-on experience with network switch configuration and network troubleshooting.
* Strong experience in using Linux operating systems.
* Experience with virtualisation technologies.
A defence security clearance is required for this role. Candidates must hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance, preferably at NV1 level, or have the ability to gain one.
