Senior Research Platform Fellow and Deputy Director Opportunity
This role offers an exciting chance for a Senior Research Platform Fellow - Deputy Director to contribute to the establishment of the National Quantum Computing Testbed Facility (NQCT). The Deputy Director will provide expert technical advice, leadership, and operational management to develop Australia's first open-access quantum computer, supporting strategic goals and ensuring effective operation of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop research design and proposals for NQCT.
* Provide expertise to end-users and ensure efficient operation of NQCT.
* Contribute superconducting quantum computing expertise to research methodologies.
* Perform complex experiments, simulations, and feasibility studies.
* Supervise research activities and develop new research products and technologies.
* Design testing procedures and collaborate with industry and government.
* Contribute to research outputs and grant applications.
* Lead and develop the research team, support researchers, and foster collaboration.
* Drive safety culture and represent the facility at events.
* Support teaching activities and mentor staff and students.
About You
We seek an expert in circuit-QED quantum computing with a PhD in experimental solid-state quantum computing, an established research profile, and experience with superconducting quantum circuits, chip design, microwave engineering, and infrastructure operation. Supervisory experience and a record of service roles are also desirable.
