Employee relations managers usually work in large private or government rail organisations.
You could find yourself working for a large civil works firm to enhance workplace culture, develop diversity initiatives, and manage any internal conflicts.
Or, you could land a role supporting industrial relations for a state government rail department.
What is the work environment like?
You'll work in an office, usually in the human resources department.
Sometimes you'll be at your desk, perhaps developing health and safety procedures or a new team building program. Other times you'll be onboarding new staff, overseeing mentoring programs, reviewing employee performance, or mediating a conflict.
You may also participate in meetings and run workshops.
You can find roles in employee relations all around Australia. Most jobs are in cities and towns. Some are in remote areas.
People who work in employee relations usually have a degree in human resources or industrial relations.
