Ryde Community Mental Health Team
Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.
Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.
What you'll be doing
The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for the provision of psychological services to Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) consumers of North Shore Ryde Mental Health Service via the Ryde Acute Team. This position coordinates the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy program and Brief Intervention Clinic at Ryde Community Mental Health Service.
The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
* Full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist with a Master's degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or relevant clinical area in psychology AND Post graduate experience in acute mental health and/or inpatient psychiatric settings.
* Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Insight Oriented Psychotherapy.
* Demonstrated skills in working with persons diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder using DBT specific interventions, and demonstrated capability in coordinating stepped care treatment approaches for Personality Disorders, including experience with programs such as Brief Intervention/ Gold Card Clinics and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
* Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal including demonstrated computer literacy. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Current NSW Driver's License.
