Are you a passionate educator seeking to contribute to the teaching program at our institution? We invite expressions of interest from experienced academics or clinicians who have a passion for teaching and subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Biomechanics
- Exercise Physiology
- Functional Anatomy.
The position requires preparation and coordination of tutorials and workshops, consultation with students, assessment marking and attendance at meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator. The primary purpose is to successfully run and manage assigned tutorials or workshops within the discipline area.
About the Role
An academic sessional makes a significant contribution to the teaching program, particularly at the undergraduate level. Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting lectures/theoretical tutorials and/or workshops in consultation with the Discipline Lead.
* Consulting with students in relation to readings, weekly topics and assessment.
* Marking and providing feedback relating to assessment activities as set out by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
* Attendance at meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
* Managing short-term extension requests in line with University policy.
* Other duties as identified by the line manager or the National Head of School.
Requirements
* Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science or Clinical Exercise Physiology qualification.
* Postgraduate research or teaching qualifications are desirable.
* Knowledge and understanding of current scholarship and/or professional practice in the relevant discipline.
* Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes including online delivery.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to foster high levels of collegiality and ability to empathise with students.
* Proven ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload and meet deadlines, in a busy education environment.
