Bayley Arts is an inclusive and innovative purpose-built art centre dedicated to creating a community hub for the arts and to providing more opportunities to artists with intellectual disability to engage with the arts.
On opening in 2023, Bayley Arts introduced a new Film Making program led by a team member with film industry experience to introduce film making skills and projects to artists with an intellectual disability. In 2024 the Bayley Arts Film Studios piece 'Unicorn' was a finalist in the Focus Film Festival and aired on SBS. Bayley Arts would like to expand on this success by welcoming another successful applicant with film-making skills to support the delivery of this program.
We are seeking an advanced tertiary level film student or someone with film industry experience who also has experience in disability work to take on a one day a week permanent role on Thursdays.
* Plan, develop and implement effective creative arts programs that support skills development in the arts, social connection and independence in daily living.
* Support clients with their day-to-day support needs (e.g. personal care, transport, meals, physical activities and community participation).
* Help clients achieve their goals using person-centred active support principles.
* Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for clients and visitors.
* As clients’ key worker, consult with them, their family and broader supports team when making decisions about their support needs.
* Ensure all interactions are professional and use appropriate communication techniques, e.g. work email / phone.
* As clients’ key worker, update client information such as care plans and support goals in CRM.
* In consultation with management, develop support strategies manage behaviours of concern.
* Work with specialists (e.g. exercise specialists, behavioural specialists) to develop & run programs to meet the specific needs of clients with behaviours of concern.
* You’re a caring, reliable, and adaptable team player who enjoys empowering others to live full and meaningful lives. You bring curiosity, initiative, and professionalism to your work every day.
* Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, Individual Support, or equivalent experience
* Experience supporting people with intellectual disability and/or high-complex needs
* Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain)
* NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
* Valid driver’s licence (preferred)
