About the Role
This business development role is focused on acquisition and expansion, with a strong emphasis on field-based sales. You'll be responsible for securing new dealership and distributor accounts while also strengthening and growing relationships with existing customers.
Your focus will primarily be visiting vehicle dealerships within select metro Melbourne areas and managing wholesale distributor relationships across select interstate regions.
As HSP grows, the current team will continue to expand, and additional sales team members will be brought on to support specific territories. Over time, this role will evolve to focus more exclusively on a defined area, giving you deeper ownership and the ability to build long-term partnerships with key accounts.
You'll spend most of your time on the road, meeting face-to-face with clients. Whether it's dropping into a dealership in Melbourne or flying interstate to visit a key distributor, this is a hands-on role that suits someone who enjoys being out in the field and developing real relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, engage, and acquire new dealership and distributor accounts, expanding HSP's market presence
* Strengthen and grow relationships with existing clients, ensuring continued business and account expansion
* Develop and execute a strong business growth strategy, focusing on acquisition and retention
* Regularly visit dealerships and distributor locations, presenting HSP's product range and value proposition
* Spend the majority of your time on the road, engaging with customers and managing relationships in person
* Travel interstate as required to maintain and grow distributor accounts in key regions
* Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to generate new business
* Stay ahead of market trends, competitor strategies, and emerging business opportunities

* A proactive, results-driven business developer who excels in both new account acquisition and relationship management
* A self-starter who thrives in an on-the-road sales role with significant customer interaction
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a professional and approachable demeanour
Bonus Qualities (Not Required, But Highly Regarded)
* Previous experience in the automotive or 4x4 industry, including dealerships, accessories, or aftermarket sales.
* Familiarity with B2B sales, dealership operations, or distributor networks
* Knowledge of Google Suite, MYOB, or CRM platforms
